Terms of Use
Effective date: October 7, 2026
These Terms of Use govern your use of GPS Land Measuring (“the App”).
By using the App, you agree to these terms.
1. Purpose
GPS Land Measuring is designed to assist with:
- land and field measurement
- point, line, perimeter, distance, and area measurement
- GPS/GNSS position collection
- field mapping
- measurement record keeping
- geographic-data import and export
- QR sharing
- PDF reporting
- photo and video attachment management
The App is a measurement-assistance tool and does not provide certified surveying services.
2. Calculation Method
The current version uses geodesic calculations based on WGS 84.
Distance, perimeter, and area calculations account for the ellipsoidal shape of the Earth.
Results may still differ from:
- Google Earth
- QGIS
- ArcGIS
- other GIS software
- other measurement applications
- professional surveying systems
Differences can result from calculation algorithms, coordinate processing, precision, point placement, source data, rounding, or other implementation details.
A difference does not necessarily mean that either result is incorrect.
3. GPS/GNSS Accuracy
GPS/GNSS measurements are affected by factors outside the App’s control, including:
- satellite geometry
- buildings
- trees
- roofs
- atmospheric conditions
- signal reflections
- interference
- device hardware
- movement
- observation duration
- measurement technique
The accuracy value reported by the App should be treated as an estimate, not as a guaranteed measurement error.
4. Not a Certified Survey
The App is not a replacement for:
- a cadastral survey
- a certified boundary survey
- professional construction-control surveying
- survey-grade GNSS or RTK equipment
For legal boundaries, land registration, construction control, or other work requiring certified accuracy, use an appropriately qualified surveyor and suitable professional equipment.
5. User Responsibility
You are responsible for:
- choosing an appropriate measurement method
- reviewing recorded points
- evaluating GPS/GNSS accuracy
- verifying important measurements
- maintaining backups
- protecting exported and shared data
- obtaining permission to enter or measure property
- complying with applicable laws and regulations
Do not rely solely on the App where an error could cause legal, financial, construction, safety, or property consequences.
6. Maps
The App may display map content from third-party providers, including:
- Google Maps
- Mapbox
- OpenStreetMap-based services
Map providers may differ in:
- imagery
- roads
- labels
- boundaries
- coverage
- update frequency
- accuracy
Third-party map content is provided under the provider’s applicable terms, licenses, and attribution requirements.
The App does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or continued availability of third-party map content.
7. User-Imported Content
The App may allow you to import geographic information, media, or other compatible files.
You are responsible for confirming that you have permission to use imported content.
Importing a file into the App does not remove or change its original copyright, license, attribution, or usage restrictions.
This includes offline map files or geographic data created with third-party software.
8. Attachments
You are responsible for photos, videos, and other media attached to measurements.
Media may contain embedded metadata, including location metadata.
Sharing or exporting the original file may also share that metadata.
9. Exported and Shared Data
You are responsible for information you export or share from the App.
This may include:
- coordinates
- measurement values
- labels
- observations
- attachments
- PDFs
- ZIP files
- QR codes
After content is shared with another person, application, service, printer, or storage provider, the App cannot control its further use, retention, copying, or deletion.
10. QR Codes
QR codes generated by the App may contain measurement information directly.
QR encoding is not encryption.
Do not display or share measurement QR codes with people who should not have access to the encoded information.
11. Third-Party Services
The App relies on third-party software and services for certain functions.
These services may have their own:
- terms
- privacy policies
- licensing requirements
- availability limitations
- data-processing practices
Use of those services may also be subject to their own terms.
12. Availability
Some App features depend on:
- GPS/GNSS reception
- device hardware
- internet connectivity
- map providers
- operating-system services
- third-party SDKs
Continuous, uninterrupted, or error-free operation is not guaranteed.
13. Data and Backups
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of important exported information.
Deleting App data, uninstalling the App, device failure, storage corruption, or user error may result in loss of locally stored content.
14. Limitation of Responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not responsible for losses or damages arising from reliance on:
- inaccurate GPS/GNSS positions
- measurement results
- third-party map information
- imported data
- user-entered data
- device failures
- unavailable network or map services
Important results should be independently verified when appropriate.
15. Changes
The App and these Terms may be updated from time to time.
Continued use after an updated version becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms where permitted by applicable law.
